SERDEX International organized a trade mission to Aluminium Dubai, the leading aluminium product and technology meeting place in the Middle East. The international trade show was an occasion for exchange between producers and users of work materials.
• The Persian Gulf, located between Europe and the Indian subcontinent, is still today a world strategic region with 65 % of global oil reserves.
• Large-scale aluminium smelters are currently under construction in the Gulf region.
• Primary aluminium production in the Gulf could reach 4 million tonnes per year by 2012. Production in 2007 was 1.9 million tonnes.
